Obituary

James Ernest Miller, II, beloved husband, father and grandfather, went to Heaven surrounded by the love and care of his family on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at the age of 78 years. He was born on March 31, 1947, in Houston, Texas to parents, James Ernest and Mary Lou Hendon Miller.

Jim, as he was known, was a 1965 graduate of Bellaire High School in Houston and attended Sam Houston State University in Huntsville.  Jim proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.  After being discharged from his service, Jim established and owned a successful construction company for many years before his retirement.

Jim loved the Lord and was an active member of the Franklin Methodist Church.  One of his proudest moments was overseeing the building of the new church. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He also loved his family, his country and especially his grandchildren.  One of his greatest past times was spending quality time with his beloved family.

The legacy Jim leaves behind is one filled with honor and integrity. He will deeply be missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Lou Miller.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, loving and devoted wife, Rhonda Miller of Frankin; daughter and son-in-law, Chelsea and Jacob Janacek of Franklin; son and daughter-in-law, Trey and Sarah Miller of Buda; 4 grandchildren: Kenadi Janacek, Bayley Janacek, Ruby Adeline Miller and James Miller, IV.
