William C. "Bud" Johnson was born on February 13, 1941 to his parents, Charles Lee Johnson and Pauline "Polly" Morgan Johnson. He went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 surrounded by his family.
Bud, as he was known, was born in Franklin. He received his education in Franklin and was a 1959 graduate of Franklin High School. Bud married the love of his life, Betty Jordan on March 17, 1962 in Sour Lake, Texas, and to the union three children were born: James, Kenneth and Joseph. Bud was employed as a lineman for Navasota Valley Electric Cooperative for forty-one years before his retirement. He continued to work as a self-employed rancher along-side his wife, Betty. Bud was a life-long resident of Franklin and was active in his community. He served on the Robertson County Fair Association Board of Directors for many years and was also an active member of the Franklin Volunteer Fire Department for many years as well.
Bud was a hard-working man, genuine and a man of Christian faith. Bud was also family man and took great pride in his wife, children and grandchildren. He loved them all very dearly as they loved him. He will not only be missed by his family but also by the many lives that Bud touched while here on earth.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Polly Johnson; brother, Robert Lee Johnson and sister, Margaret - Johnson Spangle.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Betty Johnson of Franklin; Sons, James Roy Johnson and wife Lisa of Franklin; Kenneth Ray Johnson and friend Christie of Franklin and Joseph Keith Johnson and wife Robin of Cheyenne, Wyoming; Grandchildren: Jessica Pruitt and husband Eric, Erica Wilson and husband Chris, Weston Johnson and Emily Johnson; Great Grandchildren: Wade Pruitt, Sally Pruitt , Mack Pruitt, Aydan Martin, Blake Wilson and several adoptive grandchildren. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Friday, July 16, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the Robertson County Cowboy Church. Visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the church. Burial will follow in the West Boone Prairie Cemetery in Robertson County.
