Obituary

Wanda Faye Russell Wootan was born on March 21, 1941 in Easterly, Texas to her parents, Grady Russell, Sr. and Bonnie Faye Jett Russell.  She passed away peacefully with family by her side on Monday, June 21, 2021 at her home at the age of 80 years.

Wanda received her education in Hearne, Texas. She made her home for the last fifty-eight years in Calvert and was employed for over twenty years as a dental assistant for Dr. Bicker Cain, Jr.

Wanda had a love for gardening.  She kept her yard beautiful. She had a passion to work in her flower beds and always enjoyed her flowers.  She was a former member of the Calvert Garden Club.

Wanda Loved her family dearly and her everyday companion, her little dog, Muffy.  She loved to get pictures of her family and would continuously look at them. One of her favorite past times was word search puzzle and could sit for hours doing searches. She didn't like storms so she would keep track of the weather on her iPad just in case one might pop up.  Wanda was a woman of faith and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Calvert.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Bonnie Russell her son, Gary Dean Wootan ; brothers, Travis Russell, David Russell and Chester Russell.

She is survived by her three children: Butch Miller and wife Kelly of Houston,  Rhonda Jo Wootan and Lancer Bart Wootan both of Katy; Sisters, Judy Schaefer and husband Les of Bryan, Linda Woodward and husband Jerry of Columbus, Texas; brother, Grady Russell, Jr .and wife June of Hearne; 7 Grandchildren: Joseph Everette Pantalion III and wife Angie, Savannah Malynn Baquet and husband Allen, Nathan Daniel Miller and wife Katie, Grace Elizabeth Miller, Bailee Jewel Wootan, Jacob David Miller and Camdyn Tye Wootan; Two Great Grandchildren, Benjamin Joseph Pantalion and Luke Hodges Miller; numerous nieces and nephews and her companion, Muffy.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the McCauley Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin, Texas.
