Virginia Ladell Nelson was born on May 12, 1946, in Groesbeck, Texas to her parents, Willie and Kitty Thompson Morehead.  She entered eternal life on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at the age of 77 years.

Virginia received her education in Hearne and was a homemaker. She married her husband, Louise Edward Nelson and were married for 45 years before his death. Virginia was a resident of the Elliott Community for the past 25 years and was of the Baptist faith.

Virginia was admired and loved so dearly by her family.  She will be missed so much, but the memories she made with them will forever remain in the hearts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Kitty Morehead; husband, Louise Edward Nelson on March 9, 2009.  She was also preceded in death by her siblings.

She leaves behind to cherish memories, her children, Patricia Nelson, Tammy Nelson, Billy Nelson and Eddie Nelson all of Franklin; her grandchildren: Ashley Carrizales and husband Lupe, Tiffany Ruiz and husband Zack, Crystal Mejia and husband James and Josh Nelson.  She is also survived by her great grandchildren: Alfonso, Annabelle, Baby James, Christian, Niko, Aaron, Mia, Noah and Araceli and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at the Nelson Family Cemetery 6807 Nelson Lane Franklin, Texas 77856.  A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at McCauley Funeral Home in Franklin.
