Obituary

Virgie Meadors 96, of New Baden, Texas went to join her loving husband Bill Sherman Meadors and son Darvin Dwayne Meadors on February 10, 2014. She was born on September 28, 1917 in Easterly Texas to Katy Nichols - Becktold and Hardy Becktold. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Sherman Meadors, son Darvin Dwayne Meadors, brothers, Elmer, Dave, Calvin, Alton, and Sister Selma.

Virgie was a member of New Baden Baptist Church where she served faithfully for many years. She helped organize Elm Grove Baptist Church and Re-organize Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Virgie was known for her famous hummingbird cake auctioned at the New Baden Jamboree 1st Saturday of every month. She was heavily involved with Camp Creek from the beginning. Virgie sold the very first Camp Creek Lake Permit for 85 cents. She was known for her "Doll House" on FM 1940 in which she sold numerous hand stitched quilts that was sold all over the world. She made clothes for dolls that were purchased at garage sells that she refurbished and sold. Virgie is a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and very much loved by everyone in the Community.

Sister – Nona Glasson
Grandson – Michael Dwayne Meadors with Wife Keisha Diane Meadors
Great Grandsons – Zachary Michael Meadors and Collin Lance Huebner
Great Granddaughters – Kayla Leanne Huebner and Courtney Nichole Huebner
Host of other Relatives and Friends

Services will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church New Baden, Texas. Rev. Freddy Burden will officiate. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 from 6-8 P.M. at McCauley Funeral Home.
