Obituary

Thomas Del Luhn, Sr. was born on November 26, 1953 in Galveston, Texas to Ben and Hellen Luhn. Tom was called home on February 14, 2022 at the age of 68.

Tom attended Mumford School.  At 17, he joined the United States Navy. In 1972, he married Lucy Currie.  They were then baptized together and added to the church. Tom had a distinguished career in the United States Navy of 21 years, 7 months, 16 days. He retired as a Master Chief Petty Officer. During his time in the Navy he earned numerous awards and honors.  Tom used his electronics background to open Tom's TV and Electronics in Franklin, TX. After deciding to close the shop, Tom found a new passion working with law enforcement, equipping police vehicles at Video Systems Plus. This led Tom to his next career with the Robertson County Sheriff's Office where he worked until he retired for the second time in 2019.

Tom enjoyed wood crafting, riding his tractor and petting his dog. He was an avid reader and joke collector. But most of all, Tom was known as Lucy's "handyman".

Tom was survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Lucy Luhn of Ridge; his daughter and light of his life, Jennifer Luhn of Ridge; his son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Leslie Luhn of Franklin; 2 grandsons:  Hayden Luhn of College Station and Hunter Luhn of Bryan and 2 sisters Diana Luhn Nix and Patricia Keller, both of Lake Jackson as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Tom is proceeded in death by his father, Benno Henry Luhn, Sr; his mother, Hellen Neel Andrues; his brother, Benno Henry Luhn, Jr.   his in-laws, William Earl and Delia Currie and his granddaughter, Madison Chelsea Luhn.

Services will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at the McCauley Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin, Texas.  Bob Wimberly will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Holly Cemetery, Ridge Texas.  A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2022 from 6:00 P.M. to 8 P.M. at McCauley Funeral Home.
