Shirley Gene Clayborn was born on July 7, 1941 in Dangerfield, Texas to Morris and Opal McClintock. She passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2012 in Temple, Texas at the age of 71 years. Shirley was employed with the Texas Department of Corrections as a correction officer and with Duffey Drug as a retail clerk before her retirement. She married Robert Clayborn on October 6, 2007. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Franklin. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Shirley loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her sons and grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking, watching the Food Network, fishing, and hunting. Shirley held the Texas State Champion in archery for several years and was 4th in the nation. It was during that time, while in a tournament in California, she had the pleasure of meeting actor, Lee Marvin.

Memorial Services will be held 10:00 AM on Monday, July 30, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Franklin, Texas. Rev. Freddy Burden of the New Baden Baptist Church officiated. Visitation will be Sunday, July 29, 2012 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
