Sandra Lee Shindler Parsley was born on December 16, 1946 in Pasadena, Texas to parents, Cecil Vandegaer, Sr. and Marion Dahl Vandegaer.  She entered eternal life on Saturday, February 19, 2022 in Lufkin, Texas at the age of 75 years.

Sandra married her husband, Robert Parsley on December 16, 1995.  Sandra was a homemaker and was a resident of Onalaska for the past 20 years.  She was of the Catholic faith.

Sandra is best described by her family as fun loving and always loved to celebrate and dance.  She enjoyed playing bingo and the lottery and also enjoyed traveling with her husband. Her daughters nicknamed her the "Crazy Cat Lady" because she loved her cats as well as her dogs.  Sandra had a kind and free spirit that will be missed by so many that she meant the world to.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Parsley of Onalaska; her children: Penny Strong and husband James of Tyler, Carla Threadgill and  husband Joel of Franklin, Paula Van Dyke of Houston, Cheri Shindler of Bryan,  Cyndi McCormick and husband Darryl of Franklin, Larry Shindler and wife Shelly of Rockport and Greg Shindler and wife Karen of Houston. She is also survived by her sister, Debbie Vandegaer of Onalaska and brother, Cecil Vandegaer, Jr. of Livingston, 17 granchildren: Jenny, Jacob, Joshua, Stevie, Ashley, Christopher, Brittney, Caitlin, Lauren, Michael, Reagan, Weldon, Maigan, Casey, Madison, Wade and Lynsey and 13 great grandchildren

Services will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at the McCauley Funeral Home Chapel.  Chuck Hairston will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.  A visitation will be held on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home.
