Ruth Ann Thurman was born on January 24, 1930 in Camp County, Texas to her parents, Carson Elton Spencer and Rosa Lee Dodson Spencer.  She entered eternal life on April 12, 2020 at the age of 90 years.

Ruth received her education from Stephen F. Austin High School in Houston and the Stephen F. Austin State University.  She married the love of her life, Kenneth Ray Thurman on September 18, 1948 in Houston. They were married for 71 years. Ruth was employed as a banker before her retirement and worked at various banks in Houston.  In 1968, they purchased property in Robertson County and after their retirement in 1984, they made it their permanent home. Ruth was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Franklin.  She loved her Lord and was a devoted Christian. She loved traveling, sewing, painting, gardening and visiting with family and friends. Ruth was an amazing cook and she enjoyed cooking for her family but what she enjoyed most was spending time with her grandchildren and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carson Elton Spencer and Rosa Lee Spencer; 3 brothers and 1 sister.
