Ruth Marie Wassermann Schultz was born on February 6, 1934 in Barclay, Texas to parents, Ben and Sophie Ocker Wassermann. She entered eternal life on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 in Bryan, Texas at the age of 86 years.
Ruth was a graduate of Rosebud High School and Southwest Texas State Teachers College. She married her sweetheart, Hans Paul Schultz, Jr. on June 9, 1957. She was a resident of Robertson County most of her life. Ruth was a member of the Franklin United Methodist Church.
Always part of a big family, Ruth made sure she had one of her own. The mother of 5 children, Grandma to 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, family was always an important part of her life. The love for her family extended beyond her kids and grandkids. In the summer she offered her home to her nieces and nephews, making sure they always stayed out of trouble. She also extended her home and kitchen table to many in the community. She was known in the community for her many creations in the kitchen, especially her peach cobbler and pineapple pie. Ruth also loved to garden and could make anything grow. Growing up she loved playing sports and was always there to cheer on her kids and grandkids at all sporting events. Ruth took care of all of the needs of her children and grandchildren and instilled quality values that will last a lifetime.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Sophie Wassermann; daughter, Sara Schultz; two sisters, Margaret House and Betty Galey; three brothers, Frank Wassermann, Harold Wassermann and Mike Wassermann.
Ruth is survived by her husband of sixty three years, Hans Paul Schultz, Jr. of New Baden; Daughter and Sons-in-law, Susan and Bud Nelson of New Baden and Scott Anderson of New Baden; Sons and Daughters-in-law, Charles and Mary Schultz of New Baden, Steve and Ashley Schultz of New Baden and Joe and Julie Schultz of College Station; Sister, Joyce Melvin of Temple; Brother, Lloyd Wassermann of College Station; Grandchildren: Kyle Schultz, Kevin Schultz, Ashley Schultz, Allie Schultz, Derek Schultz, Kenzie Eilers, Maddie Nelson, Abbie Nelson and Kriston Schultz; Great-Grandchildren: Ashton Schultz, Kashton Schultz and Ryder Schultz.
A private family service will be held.
