Rosalie Niemann Starkey Cazey, age 90, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2024, at the Franklin Nursing Home in Franklin, Texas.  She was born on October 3, 1934, in New Baden, Texas, to Adolph and Ida (Widmer) Niemann, the baby sister to three older brothers.

In 1952, while still a junior in high school, she met and married her first husband, Leslie M. Starkey.  They were married for almost 20 years before his death in the summer of 1972.  In the summer of 1973, she married her second husband, Earl Cazey, and they ere married for 34 years before his death in 2007.  She lived the rest of her life in New Baden, Texas.

Rosalie had many interests including her church and their activities, knitting and quilting, reading, bowling, working jigsaw puzzles (she was a master), and taking care of her yard.  She also received her GED in the 1980's and she was proficient with the internet, facebook and texting.

Rosalie is preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, her three brothers and two sons-in-law's, Bob Maris and David Hall.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Earlene Cazey Mitchell (Jeff), Yvonne Starkey Maris, Margaret Cazey Hall, Eddie Starkey (Trisha), Bill Cazey (Lori), and Doris Cazey Snowden (Chuck); her grandchildren: Norman Hall (Tara), Sarah Hall Branch (Scotty), Travis Hall (Mallory), Debbie Starkey, Thomas Starkey (Melinda),Bobby Mikulin, Rachel Cazey, Scotty Cumbo, Wendy Cumbo Leffert, Kevin Cumbo and Chris Cumbo; many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

There will be a viewing on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. followed by the funeral service at 2:00 P.M. at the Franklin Church of Christ in Franklin, Texas. A burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Franklin.
