Obituary

Ronnie Lee Phillips was born on September 20, 1946 in Terrell, Texas to Orie and Marie Cole Phillips.  He passed away peacefully on January 31, 2022 at the age of 75 years.  Ronnie was raised in Amarillo, Texas where he attended Palo Duro High School.  He participated in many sports but baseball and football were his passion.

Ronnie never met a stranger.  He loved the Lord and spoke of Jesus every day to his family and anyone that would listen. He was of the Baptist faith. Family was everything to him and he loved with all his heart and soul.  He married his high school sweetheart, Helen Marie Burnett.

He received his Masters of Science in Entomology from Texas A&M University in 1972. He was an aggie through and through.  While at school, he would call his mom, dad, brothers and sisters with his daily aggie jokes.  They would a wait for that phone call and would have a grin on their face when he called. He enjoyed taking his kids to all the in town A&M football games and then when his grandkids became of age he took them all as well. Upon graduation, Ronnie began his own business, Phillips Research and Consulting.  He also taught at Bryan ISD for many years as his second career.

He was such a charismatic, loving and kind man.  He loved to talk, so you must be prepared to stay for a least an hour visit.  His jokes and big smile will be missed by all who loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Orie and Marie Phillips; brother, Danny Phillips and his beloved son, Chris Phillips who passed away just two months prior.

Ronnie is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Helen Phillips; daughters, Renee Phillips and Stacy Sanders; sisters, Janis Herbert and husband Scott and Lauri Mask and husband Matt; the loves of his life, his precious grandchildren: Sarah Phillips, James Brantner, Jr., Jacob Sanders and Joel Phillips; Great Granddaughter, Evelyn Marie Phillips.  He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews who all had a special place in his heart.

There will never be another "Ronnie Lee Phillips"   "Until We Meet again"

Services will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church, Franklin, Texas.  Scott Herbert will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery.  A visitation will be held Saturday from 1:00 until service time at First Baptist Church, Franklin, Texas.
