Roger Allen Wylie, 64, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2011 in Robertson County. He was the first child born to Luther Allen Wylie and Dorothy Bray Wylie in Mart on September 13, 1947. He was a graduate of Franklin High School and received a Bachelor of Arts in History from Lamar State College of Technology. He had been a resident of the Willow Creek Community for most of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Ronnie Wylie.
Roger will forever be remembered by his children, daughter Jennifer Wylie Derossett and Matt Derossett of Austin and son Gary Wylie and Maureen Hanson of Conroe; granddaughter, Stephanie Wylie of Humble; sisters, Tisha Emert of Valley View and Brenda McKenzie of Hewitt;; and many nieces and nephews; and countless friends and family who were blessed to have known him.
Roger was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed passing on his knowledge to his children, nieces, and nephews.
Roger was a mason for 29 years and was a member of Bald Prairie Church of Christ. Friends and family are invited to the visitation Friday at 10:00 A.M. and attend the funeral following at 11:00 A.M. at Bald Prairie Church of Christ.
