Robert Lewis
"Bobby" Box
Aug 9, 1956 — Jul 29, 2026
Robert Lewis "Bobby" Box was born August 9, 1956, in Fort Eustis, Virginia. He passed away unexpectedly on July 29, 2026, in Branson, Missouri, while away on a business trip. Bobby was the first born to the late Bernard Kenneth and Patsy Gwen LaGrone Box. After his birth, his family moved around a few times with the military before they returned to their hometown of Franklin, where he attended school and graduated from Franklin High School in 1974.
Bobby then continued his education by attending the University of Texas at Austin for one semester before transferring to Texas A&M University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics in 1978. While attending A&M he met and later married his former spouse, Geri Mayes, with whom he had his first two children, daughter, Jamie (Box) Wilson, and son, Robert "Kenny" Box. In 1998, Bobby married his former wife, Karen Frazier, with whom he had his third child, son, Thomas Van Box.
From a very young age, Bobby cultivated a very strong work ethic, helping his parents run their feed store, Centex Ag Supply in Franklin, which he continued doing until 1995. He then began a career in the animal health industry, working for a couple of companies before landing at Select the Best, where he gave 26 years of dedication. Bobby enjoyed his work as the sales and marketing director for Select the Best and created a lifetime of relationships and friendships with customers and coworkers. He always looked forward to attending trade shows where he got the chance to catch up with his work family. Another role he was very passionate about was serving on the Franklin ISD school board, which he proudly did for 35 years.
Bobby was our teddy bear. He had the biggest smile and best belly laugh. When he wasn't traveling for work, he loved spending time with his kids, grandkids and friends. He was a do-it-yourself kind of guy that loved to tinker in the shop and fix things but was also very knowledgeable about computers and was always helping friends and family with their computer problems. He learned computer programing from books, way before you could learn just about anything online. Like his father, he loved to grow a big vegetable garden every year. He was always involved with his sons' sports endeavors and formed many lasting bonds and great memories with his fellow Bomber and Pop Warner dads.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents Bernard and Patsy Box. He is survived by his daughter Jamie (Box) Wilson and spouse Jeff, son Robert "Kenny" Box and spouse Cari, son Thomas Van Box and spouse Ana, longtime companion Sharon Pfeffer Cowart, grandchildren Joey Wilson, Jordyn Wilson, Jaxson Wilson and baby Braxton Box expected in September, his sister Karen Klores and spouse Norman.
