Rebecca "Becky" Nickelson, 97, of Franklin, Texas passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at her residence. She was born on October 17, 1914 in Calvert, Texas to Thomas Jefferson Rodgers and Bertha Bryant Guynes Rodgers. She attended Franklin School, University of Texas and Sam Houston State Teachers College. She married Lad Nickelson on May 21, 1938. She was a homemaker and a teacher. She was a lifetime resident of Franklin and a member of the First Baptist Church in Franklin. She was also a member of the Texas Retired Teachers Association and a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #311 Franklin, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Son; James Louis Nickelson, Son-in-law; Lawrence Hammer, 2 brothers; Robert James Rodgers and Louie Rodgers, 2 sisters; Sallie Ann Rodgers and Mary Ellen Porter.

Private graveside services were held on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Rev. Jimmy Sanders officiated.
