Obituary

Ray Allen Woodward, 80, of New Baden, Texas passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 in Bryan, Texas. He was born on December 18, 1935 in Kennedy, Texas to Maurice and Hilda Woodward. He was a graduate of William Adams High School in Alice, Texas and married Diana Knox on November 10, 1961. He was veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Korean War. Ray was a self employed saddle maker and had been a resident of Robertson County for over 20 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Franklin. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Leo Woodward, Shelley Woodward and Buddy Woodward; sisters, Flora Slinkard, Helen Slough, Peggy Franks and JoAnn Rossler.

He is survived by:
Wife – Diana Woodward of New Baden

Son – Dee Allen Woodward of Wheelock

Daughter – Jeatawn Woodward Degelia of Houston

Sister and Brother-in-law – Carol Jean and Jerry Irving of Bloomington

Brother and Sister-in-law – Jerry Wayne and Linda Woodward of New Braunfels

8 Grandchildren – Ashli Cox and husband Marcus, Cheyenne Metzer and husband Tim, Colton Degelia, Shaeley Degelia, Kacey Degelia, Cole Bolen and Reann Bolen
6 Great Grandchildren – Mason Cox, Jaxon Cox, Grayson Kindt, Jaylen Fisher, Kaytlan Kindt and Madelyn Metzer

Service will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 3:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church in Franklin. Mitch Harper will officiate. Burial will follow in the New Baden Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 6, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at McCauley Funeral Home in Franklin.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the youth fund at First Baptist Church in Franklin.
