Ray McBride went to his Heavenly home surrounded by the love of his family on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at the age of 84 years. He was born on February 3, 1942, to his parents, Emmit and Mozelle Thorpe McBride.

Ray received his education in New Baden and Franklin schools. He married the love of his life, Vera Mae Boyd on February 9, 1962, and they shared 56 years of marriage before her death on February 11, 2018.

Ray was employed with Wyman Gordon for 40 years as an engineer before his retirement. He was a resident of Plantersville for the past 20 years, previously living in Magnolia. Ray attended the Lonestar Cowboy Church in Montgomery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmit and Mozelle McBride, Wife, Vera Mae McBride and brother, Al McBride.

Ray was a devoted husband and father. He was hardworking and took great pride in providing for his family. Ray had an obsession of always watching the stock market whenever his time allowed and enjoyed playing the lotto. In his early years, Ray enjoyed coon hunting and in his later years, he could be found gardening and mowing his lawn in his spare time.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Gordon Novotny of Midland, son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Megin McBride of Magnolia; brother, J.T. McBride of New Baden; grandchildren: Zachary McBride, Emma McBride, Abby McBride, Janie Smith, Sammie Jo Gersbach and Bo Novotny. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren: Gracie Smith, Shevy Smith, Brantley Smith, Zane Smith, Rowdy Smith, Houston Smarrito, Kambree Gersbach, Zayden Gersbach, Ryker Schropshire, Weston Shropshire, and Holden Novotny; 1 great great grandchild, Hallie Green

Service will be held on Monday, October 19, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. at McCauley Funeral Home in Franklin, Texas. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Monday from 12:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home.
