On October 11, 2024, in the early hours of the morning, Randy Layne Dooley transitioned to be with his father, Donald Dooley, brother, Phillip "Mike" Dooley, sister Paula Dooley, Mother Willie Mae Tyler Dooley, and numerous others who joined paradise before him. He is survived by two sisters; Rhonda Guess and Patricia Schnell, four children; Kavan Dooley, Dallas Freeman, Sarah Dooley, and Gentry Ridgeway, alongside three grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and family.

Randy will be most remembered for his mustache, which rivaled even the red mane of Yosemite Sam himself. He was fond of his roots and still had a head full of them, hardly a grey in sight. In some places of the world, he is known as, "The Watermelon Man" in some, "The Goat Guy", still others "farmer", "shrimp cocktail lover", "Mr. Dooley", "brother", "uncle"..."dad". By whichever name we call him, someone else has called him home. It is beneath big shade trees and beside babbling waters, atop white clouds and autumn breezes - surrounded with joys only country living could bring (and definitely no 2% milk), that we surrender him to now.

A visitation with family will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024, from 9:00 A.M.-10:30 A.M. at McCauley Funeral Home in Franklin.  A graveside service will follow at 11:00 A.M. at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Franklin.
