Patricia "Pat" Ann Mackey was born on July 28, 1937 in Houston, Texas to her parents, Clabon Freeman Mackey and Margaret Pearl Hutto Mackey. She joined her Lord and Savior at her eternal home on Sunday, July 10, 2022 in College Station, Texas.
Pat received her education at Austin High School in Houston, North Texas State and Texas Women's University in Denton, and Tulane University in New Orleans. While pursuing multiple degrees, she was also active in equestrian clubs and competitions, and served others in extracurricular leadership positions. She served as CEO for the Girl Scout Council of Southeast Louisiana for 26 years before her retirement. After Pat retired, she moved to Franklin, TX to live out a ranch-life and her cowgirl aspirations. She was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Franklin and was a resident of Franklin for the past 17 years.
Pat was an avid lover of dogs and they were always considered her children. She enjoyed training her border collies for show and sheep herding competition. Pat was a true cowgirl at heart and loved the views at her Franklin ranch as well as her annual visits to Jackson Hole, Wyoming with her friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clabon and Margaret Mackey.
Pat is survived by: sister, Katherine J. Mackey Williams; brother-in-law, George D. Williams; nephew, Douglas Q. Williams; nieces, Annette L. Williams Thompson and Mollie M. Williams; and God-daughter, Katelyn N. Williams. She is also survived by her beloved border collie, Cari
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at 9:30 A.M. at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Franklin with burial following at 3:00 P.M. a Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery 6900 Lawndale Street Houston, Texas The family will receive visitors from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 with a rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. at McCauley Funeral Home in Franklin.
