Pat Marx Steele was born on January 20, 1941, in Marlin, Texas, to parents, James Woodrow and Celestine Josephine Marx Steele. He passed into eternal life with his family by his side on Saturday, September 14, 2024, in Bryan, Texas at the age of 83 years.
Pat was a 1959 graduate of Franklin High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy serving his country during the Vietnam War. Pat married his loving wife, Bobbie Hall on February 12, 1965, in Houston, Texas. They were blessed with 4 wonderful children, Sandra, Rebecca, Cynthia and James. Pat was a life-long resident of Franklin and was of the Baptist faith. Pat accepted Jesus as his personal savior and was Baptized in Christ on August 14, 1955, at the Franklin Baptist Church. Pat was a member of Patrick Lodge #359, Franklin, Texas and served as a master mason. He received his 50 years pin this past February. Pat was also a life-time member of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation.
Pat is preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Pat Steele, brother, John Leo "Johnny" Steele and his grandson, Carlos Vincente` "Vinnie" Lopez.
Pat leaves behind to cherish his memory, wife of 59 years, Bobbie Steele of Bryan, 3 daughters: Sandra Carol Estes of Franklin, Rebecca Lynn Steele Ewing and husband Christopher of Frankfurt Germany, and Cynthia Elaine Steele and husband Jon Vaughn of Bryan, Son, James Patrick Steele and wife Emily of Franklin, 5 sisters: Mary Frances "Cissy" Rabe of Franklin, Jimmie Lou Cernin of Bryan, Jerry Ione Fagan of Bryan, Cathy Renee` Sealock of Bryan and Jacqueline "Jackie" Powers and husband Bill of Martin, Georgia, brother, James Woodrow Steele, Jr. "Mike" and wife Linda of Franklin. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren: Dani, Willie, Marli, Mario, Shane, Tanner, Corrigan, Caelan, Chris, Nick, James Jr. and Alex. 14 Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Services will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at McCauley Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin. Jimmy Reagan will officiate. A burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at McCauley Funeral Home.
