Ora Belle Copeland was born on August 22, 1939, in Hearne, Texas to her parents, Elvis Robert and Bessie Hodges.  She entered eternal life on Saturday, March 30, 2024, in Hallettsville, Texas at the age of 84 years.

Ora Belle received her education in Hearne and then attended nursing school.  She was employed for over 40 years as a Registered Nurse.  Ora Belle was a resident of Shiner for 40 years and was of the Baptist faith.

Ora Belle loved being a nurse and really enjoyed taking care of her patients.  She also loved her family and was a wonderful mother, but her children knew when she meant business and was always respected for her sternness. She will be missed so much by the lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene "Buck" Copeland; son, Calvin Copeland and sister, Minnie Lambert and husband Charles "Chuck" Lambert.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughters, Charlotte Brock and husband Terry of Newark and Bonnie Cottrell and husband Michael of Hurst; sons, David Copeland and wife Cheryl and Terry Copeland and wife Polly all of Victoria; grandchildren: Brandy Mayes and husband James, Jesse Brock and wife Heather, Melissa Auschwitz and husband Brad, Travis Copeland and wife Chloe, Melanie Halepaska and husband Bryan and Staci Kraeer and husband Carl.  She is also survived by great grandchildren, Madison Mayes, Courtney Fisher and Leah Auschwitz, Warren Brock, Ciera Brock and Destiny Brock; special nephew, Roland Michael Padgett; special nieces, Susan Bell, Serena Rushing and Carolyn Ibarra and a host of other great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at the Wealthy Cemetery in Normangee, Texas.
