Norma Paralee Bruce, 84, of Bryan, Texas passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 in Bryan, Texas. She was born on August 27, 1930 in Franklin, Texas to Albert Sidney Browning and Ruby Olivia Whittington Browning. Norma was a graduate of Franklin High School and also a graduate of Seton School of Nursing in Austin. She married Wilburn Bruce on July 27, 1951 in Franklin, Texas. She retired in 1989 from the Texas Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation after 17 years of employment. She was a resident of Bryan for the past 8 years previously living in Richmond, Texas. She was of the Church of Christ faith. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings; Ellis Sydney Browning, William Bryan Browning and Julia Kathleen Smitherman

She is survived by:

Son – David Bruce of Bryan

Sister and Brother-in-law – Ruth and Coleman Rhodes of Franklin

Sister-in-law – Katie Browning of Bryan

2 Nieces, 9 Nephews

Numerous grand-nieces and nephews

Services will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the McCauley Funeral Chapel in Franklin. Chuck Durham will officiate. Burial will follow in the Bald Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2015 from 6-8 PM at McCauley Funeral Home in Franklin, Texas.
