Obituary

Nelda Faye Johnston was born on May 4, 1937 in Marquez, Texas to parents, Lindsey and Alter Moon Phillips.  She entered eternal life peacefully on Sunday, February 6, 2022 in College Station surrounded by family at the age of 84 years.

She married the love of her life, Dale Johnston on August 26, 1955.  She was a resident of Robertson County for the past 30 years previously living in Baytown. Nelda loved her family and people.  She enjoyed cooking and also loved teaching family members how to cook.  Nelda also enjoyed gardening and loved horses.  She also had a love for music.  Nelda was a Christian and a member of the Franklin United Methodist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lindsey and Alter Phillips and her husband, Dale Johnston; 2 sisters, Irene Sturrock and Winnie Wilson; brother, Howard Phillips

Nelda is survived by her loving daughters and Sons in-law: Debbie Stombaugh of Pasadena, Janet and Charles Ziegler of Buffalo and Tammy and Kelly Sexton of Franklin; Sons and daughters-in-law: Larry and Bridgett Johnston of Franklin and Glen and Angie Johnston of Tomball; 18 grandchildren: Sonya, Daniel, Amy, Lori, Clint, Heather, Amber, Amanda, Audrey, Landon, Christen, Jennifer, Lauren, Colton, McKenzie, Ethan, Madison and Mikayla; 28 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Services will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at the Franklin United Methodist Church. Pastor Polly Standing and Pastor Kelly Sexton will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Holly Cemetery.  A visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until service time Saturday at the Franklin United Methodist Church.
