Melvin Acy Cornelius was born on May 14, 1943 in Conroe Texas, to his parents, Malcom Acy Cornelius and Wilma Jean Nickelson Cornelius.  He entered into eternal life on Sunday, April 26, 2020.

Melvin received his education in Hearne and was employed as an electrician before his retirement.  He married Mary Trammell on November 7, 2015 in New Baden, Texas.  Melvin was a member of the First Baptist Church in New Baden.

Melvin was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Edward Cornelius.

He is survived by: Wife Mary Trammell Cornelius of New Baden, Children: Michael Acy Cornelius and wife Ana of Houston, Deanna Lynn Crowe and husband Tom of Georgetown, Tina Tresselt and husband Mark of Blanco, Billy Trammell and wife Susanne of Corpus Christi and Anthony Trammell and wife Christina Trammell of Troy

Grandchildren:  Hunter Wollaston and wife Laurel, Ashley Wolllaston, Brooke Wollaston, Zack Crowe and wife Ashley, Noah Tresselt, Shaylin Tresselt, Austin Trammell and Tyler Trammell.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
