Obituary

Mary Gaynelle Duncan died peacefully in her
sleep at The Community Hospice in Fort Worth,
Texas, on Saturday, 3/11/2017.

Viewing and celebration of life will be held at Mc-
Cauley Funeral home on Friday, 3/17, at 7pm.
Funeral Service will be at Franklin United Methodist Church, Saturday, 3/18/2017 at 2 pm,
followed by a graveside service at East Boone
Prairie Cemetery.

Gaynelle was born in Baytown, Texas on November
7, 1946 to Mary Helen New Duncan and
Richard Marvin Duncan. She started to school in
Baytown before moving to Franklin at the age of
seven. She attended school at Franklin Elementary
briefly before she and her family moved to
San Antonio. She graduated from MacArthur High School in San Antonio, Texas in 1965. She attended Southwest Texas State College (University) and graduated in 1969. She began her teaching career at Samuel Clemens High School in Universal City and taught there for thirty years. Gaynelle moved to Franklin after she retired. Gaynelle was an active member of the Franklin First United
Methodist Church, where she played the piano for Sunday services for several years. She was a member of the Franklin Garden Club. She served as Treasurer for a number of years for the Robertson County Retired Teacher's Association and the Franklin United Methodist Women. She was a former member of the
Franklin Reading Club.

Gaynelle was preceded in death by her parents, uncles Carlyle Duncan and Glen Duncan, aunts, Virginia Sartain and Irene Duncan, cousins, Patricia and KellySartain, and cousin Seth Duncan McCormick.

She is survived by her cousins: Terry Glen Duncan and his children, Taylor Glen and Kellie of Waco, Texas, Thomas C. Duncan of Dublin, Texas. David New, wife and children of Austin, Texas. Nancy Gilmore and mother Frances of Dallas, Texas, Susan Gilmore Ellington, husband and children of Ypsilanti, MI, Kenneth McCormick Sr of Houston, Ken McCormick of Alaska, Melissa McCormick Dunne
of Houston, Aunt Juanita Duncan of Dublin, Texas and her close friends, Gwen and Paul Wenning of Greensburg, IN. Mary Gaynelle Duncan will be laid to rest at the East Boone Prairie Cemetery near Franklin, Texas, following the memorial
service.
