Mary Jo Cooper, 88, of Franklin, Texas passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2014 in College Station, Texas. She was born on August 25, 1926 to Maurice Baxter and Berta Davis Baxter. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Inez Holder and husband James, nephew Bob Holder, first husband Richard Campbell, second husband Sidney Cooper, daughter Nancy Shelander, and great grandson Benjamin Spencer. She graduated from Franklin High School and worked in Austin, TX. She returned to Franklin and began her career with Robertson Electric Coop, which later became Navasota Valley Electric Coop. She started as a billing clerk, then retired as the bookkeeper after 43 years with the company. Mary Jo was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and served several years as church clerk for First Baptist Church of Franklin.

Services will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church, Franklin, Texas. Toby Foreman will officiate. Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 from 6-8 P.M. at McCauley Funeral Home in Franklin.
