Mary Arena Burke was born on January 7, 1938 in Danville, Illinois to parents, Louis Carpenter, Sr. and Rose Marker Carpenter.  She entered eternal life on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 in Franklin, Texas at the age of 84 years.

Mary was a graduate of Rockville High School in Rockville, Indiana.  She married her loving husband, Albert Burke on August 17, 1957 in Rockville, Indiana.  She was resident of Calvert for the past sixty-three years and a member of the First Baptist Church, Calvert, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Rose Carpenter and her brother, Louis Carpenter, Jr.

Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and Christian.  She will be missed by the many lives she touched.

She is survived by her husband of sixty-four years, Albert Burke of Calvert; Sons and daughter-in-law, John and Diane Burke of Franklin and James Paul Burke of Calvert; Sister, Carolyn Petak of Rockville, Indiana; Brother, Jerry Carpenter of Franklin; three grandchildren: James Allen Burke, Jennifer Burke and Bridget and  Kody Brock and 4 great grandchildren: Delaine Burke, Levi Burke, Dixie Brock and Parker Lynch

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Sunnyside Cemetery in Calvert, Texas.  Jimmy Sanders will officiate.

In lieu of flower, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Alzheimer's Association.
