Mark Maurice
Marvin Martin
Jul 8, 1959 — Apr 17, 2026
Mark Maurice Marvin Martin was born into this world on July 8, 1959, to Larry L. and Jimmie May Sallach Martin. He took his last breath on April 17, 2026, at his home in Franklin, Texas surrounded by those he loved most. Mark grew up with his family in Cypress, Texas and was a 1977 graduate of Cy-Fair High School.
Mark was a bit of a daredevil in his younger days. He would proudly show you his scars and tell you about the accidents he was in, that gave him those wounds. Motorcycles, 4-wheelers, tractors and 18-wheelers were a few of his favorite things to drive. Mark was a truck driver by trade. Mark spent 48 years of his life rooted in Franklin, Texas where he built a life centered on hard work and family. He was known for his steady presence, strong will, snarky sayings, and a sense of humor that could lighten even the hardest days. Whether he was working with cows, shuffling dominoes, putting out hay, spending time with family, or sharing stories around the fire; Mark found joy in everyday moments. He believed in living simply and often reminded those around him that "you can't take it with you when you go."
Mark is preceded in death by his mother and father, and his brothers, Michael and Matthew Martin. He is survived by his sisters, Melissa Williams of Franklin and Margaret Montemayor of Magnolia and his brother, Monte Martin of Delta, Ohio, his loving wife of 29 years, Gloria Martin, his daughters and sons-in-law, Mandi and David Weathers of Bryan, Samantha and Bill Morris of Franklin, daughters, Misti Martin of Bryan, and Martina Martin of Franklin, and son, Marcus Edwards of Hutto, and his honorary son, Kendall Cash of Franklin. He also leaves behind 5 grandchildren: Clayton, Maci, Tabitha, Mollie, and Martin who adoringly called him PopPop.
