Margaret Elizabeth Quinn was born on March 26, 1942, in Bryan, Texas, to parents, Ellis and Julia Irene Barnett Andrews. Margaret went to her eternal Heavenly home, peacefully, on Monday, May 15, 2023, surrounded by her girls. She was 81 years old.

Margaret married the love of her life, Johnnie Dean Quinn in 1958. She was a 1960 graduate of Hearne High School. She received her Bachelor of Education from Sam Houston State University and her Master of Education from Texas A&M University. Margaret began her teaching career in Houston and went on to teach at several different schools throughout her 35 plus years in education. She taught in Hearne ISD, served as librarian at Franklin ISD, and ended her career retiring from Normangee ISD. Except for living a short while in Houston and Huntsville, Margaret was a life-long resident of Robertson County. She was of the Baptist faith.

Margaret Quinn was not only a woman of faith, but also a trailblazer throughout her life, with a wide range of interests and experiences. Her adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors led her to enjoy rodeos, where she excelled as a competitive barrel racer. She had a passion for exploring the landscapes from the back of a horse and often took her daughters on week-long trail rides, creating lasting memories with friends and acquaintances.
In addition to her equestrian pursuits, Margaret found joy in camping and being in nature, advocating for the preservation of the land's beauty. Her adventurous spirit extended beyond horseback riding and into the world of motorcycles. She became the first female in Robertson County to hold a motorcycle license, showcasing her fearless and pioneering nature.
Margaret dedicated her life to bettering the lives of others, embodying selflessness, and compassion. She was highly active in her community, involving herself in various endeavors. Her passion for emergency care led her to become one of the founding members and longest-serving board member of Robertson County EMS. Margaret also became a certified EMT and volunteered her time as a medic for Robertson County EMS, teaching CPR and positively impacting countless lives through her dedication to emergency care.

Her commitment to the community extended beyond emergency services. Margaret was one of the founding members and original investors of the Franklin Clinic, demonstrating her belief in accessible healthcare. She served as a board member of the Franklin Housing Authority for many years, further contributing to the well-being of her community. She even continued her support within the community by tirelessly working every election cycle.
Margaret's dedication to helping others knew no bounds. Following the Chernobyl disaster, she joined Doctors without Borders and traveled to Soviet Russia to provide aid, showcasing her unwavering commitment to those in need.

Despite her numerous endeavors, Margaret remained fiercely protective of her family and loved ones. She was a dedicated and supportive big sister to her brothers and sisters, a strong role model for her daughters, and a doting grandmother and great-grandmother. Her creative flair extended to her skills as a seamstress, as she crafted beautiful clothes for herself and her family, establishing herself as a fashionista.
Margaret Quinn was described by those who knew her as fierce, formidable, dedicated, independent, and strong-willed. Her family and close friends also recognized her loving, protective nature and admired her uniquely beautiful soul, both inside and out.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ellis and Julia Irene Andrews; husband, Johnnie Quinn; her beloved granddaughter, Kalynn Quinn Hensley and her brothers, Buddy Andrews and Alfred Andrews.

Margaret leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughters: Dena Struck and husband Michael of Seattle, Cindy Quinn-Fleming and husband Bobby of Franklin and Tomi Quinn Houston and husband John of Franklin; sisters, Mary Adams of Granger, and Ramona Miranda of Laredo; 9 grandchildren: Kyle Hensley, Tyler Hensley, Kamryn Garcia, Kadie Lagan, Julie Mitchell, Angie Turnage, Mason Fleming, Lyndi Sanders, and Jake Houston. She is also survived by her numerous great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews and her dear special friend, Lou Wallingford.

Services will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. at McCauley Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin. Chris Lange will officiate. Burial will follow in the Quinn Family Cemetery in Franklin. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at McCauley Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Brazos Valley 502 W. 26 th Street Bryan, Texas 77803 or to a local cemetery of choice. Dedicating time and effort for improving communities and lives of others is the best way of honoring her memory.
