Obituary

London Dale Johnston, 82, of Franklin passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2012 in Houston, Texas. He was born on May 20, 1930 in Ridge, Texas to Obey and Fannie Ansley Johnston. He married Nelda Fay Phillips on August 26, 1955 and resided in Bryan for several years before moving to Baytown where they lived for 28 years. He returned to Robertson County in 1991 and lived out the remaining years of his life. Mr. Johnston was an auto mechanic and business owner before returning to settle for life on the farm. He loved spending time with his family and listening and playing country music. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Johnston always had an abundant garden to supply everyone with fresh vegetables. He worked very hard and wasn't afraid to tackle any project and instilled this work ethic in all his children as well as strong Christian values. Mr. Johnston was of the Methodist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Charles and Doney Johnston and his sister; Helen Hutchinson.
He is survived:

3 Daughters and 3 Sons-in-law – Debra Perio and John Stombaugh of Pasadena
Janet and Chuck Ziegler of Buffalo
Tammy and Kelley Sexton of Franklin

2 Sons and Daughters-in-law – Larry and Bridget Johnston of Franklin
Glen and Angie Johnston of Spring

Brother – Sidney Johnston Franklin

18 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren

Services were held on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at the Franklin United Methodist Church. Rev. Polly Standing officiated. Burial followed in the Holly Cemetery in Ridge, Texas.
