Lizzie Mae
Sanders
Mar 18, 1936 — Feb 6, 2026
Lizzie Mae Sanders entered eternal life on Friday, February 6, 2026, at the age of 89. She was born on March 18, 1936, in Franklin, Texas, to her parents, William and Elizabeth Baxter Grace.
Lizzie Mae received her education in the Franklin school system. On October 25, 1954, she married the love of her life, Aron Sanders, and together they shared 57 years of marriage until his passing. She worked for many years at Courts Saddlery and the Franklin Supermarket before retiring. Lizzie Mae was a lifelong resident of Franklin Texas where she was a member of Franklin Methodist Church and remained deeply rooted in the community she loved.
Lizzie Mae was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, a love that brought her both great joy and occasional frustration—depending on the season, of course. She had a deep love for animals, especially her tomcats and her raccoon, Charlie. One of her favorite pastimes was sitting on her porch after feeding the squirrels and birds, watching them race up the trees and soar through the air.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Elizabeth Grace; her husband, Aron Sanders; her son, Walter David Sanders, Sr.; her grandsons, Greg Wymola and Ryan Wymola; her brothers, Tom Grace, Lawrence Grace, Walter Grace, Clarence Grace, and Wayne Grace; and her sisters, Hortence Grace and Mary Lou Green.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Wymola of Bryan; her son, Bill Sanders of Franklin; and two grandchildren, Walter David Sanders, Jr. and his wife, Kathi, of Brazoria, and Cody Sanders of Bryan, Texas. She leaves behind her great-grandchildren: Aron Wymola and his fiancée, Emily Deal; Elizabeth Wymola; Baylee Sanders; Elias Sanders; Asher Sanders; Colby Sanders and his wife, Katie; Gracie Sanders; Destiny Whitaker; and Corey Whitaker.
Her legacy continues through her great-great-grandchildren: Ashlynne Whitaker, Hadley Whitaker, Henley Whitaker, and Haxton Whitaker. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Linda Moler and family; her brother-in-law, Reverend Jimmy Sanders, and his wife, Karen; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Above all else, Lizzie Mae cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her nieces and nephews. Those moments meant the world to her and were the memories she treasured most. She was deeply loved by her family and will be forever missed.
