Lilly May Galloway was born on May 7, 1943, in Leon County, Texas, to her parents, Marvin and Jewel Ritchie Winstead. She peacefully entered eternal life surrounded by her family on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at her home at the age of 80 years.
Lilly was a graduate of Leon High School. She was a life-long resident of Marquez and a member of the Marquez Baptist Church.
Lilly was a devoted loving mother and grandmother, dear sweet sister and a loyal friend. She was a selfless person always putting the needs of others first. Lilly's family and home were of the upmost importance to her. She was known for keeping her house and yard neat and tidy and enjoyed cooking and baking, always making sure that no one left her house hungry. She was truly a selfless soul, and her absence will be felt by the many lives that she was a part of, but she will forever remain in their hearts and memories forever.
Lilly was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Jewel Winstead; her husband, Mike Galloway and her siblings, Jimmy Winstead, Emma Moon and Betty Winstead.
Lilly leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughters and Sons-in-law, Tammy and Larry Watson and Julie and Jim Salley all of Marquez; son, Marvin "Bubba" and Amy Griffin of Spicewood; sister, Dora Shields of Bremond; brother, Marvin Winstead, Jr. of Marquez; 7 grandchildren: Derrick Noey and wife Krystal, Brittany Hill and husband John Mark, Chelsea Platow and husband Dustin, Shellby Noey, Colbey Cantarella and husband Cody, Tori Salley and Lauren Salley. She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren and longtime friends, Joe Caton and Vonda Massey.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Winn Cemetery in Leon County, Texas. A visitation will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at McCauley Funeral Home in Franklin, Texas.
