Laddie Walton
May
Jun 12, 1937 — Oct 1, 2026
Franklin
Laddie Walton May, beloved father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather went to his Heavenly home surrounded by the love of his family on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at the age of 89.
He was born on June 12, 1937, to parents, Kenneth May and Bernice Brashear in Bryan, Texas. Laddie attended Normangee High School and married his loving wife, Shirley Ann Meadors on December 14, 1957, in New Baden, Texas. Laddie was employed with Robertson Electric Association (REA) for many years as an electrical lineman. He was a life-long resident of Robertson County and attended Robertson County Cowboy Church.
Laddie was preceded in death by his parents, wife and son, Montie May.
Laddie was an example of honesty and hardwork. Those values were the greatest qualities that he lived by and passed on to his loving family. Papa, as he was known to his grandchildren, was a strong, smart, and loving man and was as tough as they come. If you knew Laddie, then you knew he was pretty adventurous in his younger years. Even though he had slowed down over the last few years, he still loved life and made the most of it!
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, daughter and son-in-law, Theresia and Bill Riley of Franklin, sister, June Yoakum of Franklin, his granddaughter, Kara Baade and husband Chris and grandson, Dustin Riley and wife Leslie. He also leaves behind his precious great grandchildren: Tanner Baade, Wyatt Riley and Shiloh Riley, and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation with family will be held on Monday, October 5, 2026, from 1:00 P.M. until 2:15 P.M at McCauley Funeral Home in Franklin, Texas. Following the visitation, a graveside service will take place at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery 4410 FM 2446 Franklin, Texas at 2:30 P.M. where Laddie will be laid to rest.
