Kelley C.
Rush
Dec 20, 1956 — May 17, 2020
Kelley C. Rush, 63, of Franklin, Texas went to be with his Lord on Sunday, May 17, 2020. A time for family to receive friends will be from 5:00-7:00 pm on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at McCauley Funeral Home in Franklin. A service will be held in Kelley's honor at 2:00 pm on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Franklin with Minister Jay Rush officiating. The family opted to have the service at Kelley's grave site in order for more friends and relatives to be able to attend the service. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant cemetery, Kelley will be placed next to his beloved Mother, where he wanted to be.
Kelley was born in Hearne, Texas on December 20, 1956 to Melba (Dollie) and Johnnie C. Rush. He was the fourth child and only boy born to the Rush Family. His three sisters were so happy to have this sweet blonde haired boy with bright blue eyes join the family.
Kelley attended grade school in Franklin and then the family moved to Houston. Kelley married Lois Gary in Houston in 1975. They had three wonderful children, however, their relationship ended in divorce. This action altered Kelley for the rest of his life and left him estranged from his children. However, very recently, Kelley and the children were able to tell each other of their love for each other. It was a beautiful experience to see.
Kelley spent most of his life in Robertson County, working mostly as a heavy equipment operator in the pipeline industry.
Kelley enjoyed fishing, riding horses and tinkering under the hood of any type of car/truck/equipment. Just like his Dad, Johnnie, Kelley loved animals – cows, horses and most of all his dogs. Pepper was his favorite and has been gone for several years. Now there is Blu, Junior, and little Blu Blu. They will miss Kelley as much as his human family.
Kelley was preceded in death by his parents, Melba and Johnnie Rush. Kelley leaves behind his three children, Joni Rush of Port Lavaca; Billy Rush of Round Rock; and Jay Rush of Dallas. He has six grandchildren, Rylee Rush; Lily Rush; Gregory Hill; Dylan Hill; Kaleb Seyferth and Amber Rush. Three great grandchildren, Ethyn, Isaiah and Lucas. Also he leaves his three sisters, Peggy Scasta; Linda Horton and Pamela Hernandez and a ½ sister, Molly Rush. His partner of 20 years, Sheila C. Mills and her daughter Leah Rhea are also being left without their long term friend. Kelley will be deeply missed by his family.
