Johnny Roy Starkey, 79 of Franklin, Texas passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2016 in Bryan, Texas. He was born on October 13, 1936 in San Antonio, Texas to Claude and Geraldine McCrary Starkey. Johnny was a graduate of Franklin High School and married Cornelia Ann Loreant on October 27, 1957 in Franklin, Texas. He was employed with Crane Plumbing for 40 years as a Plant Supervisor before retiring in 2001.
He served in the United States Navy during peace time. Johnny was a life-long resident of Franklin and a member of the First Baptist Church in Franklin, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, John Clifford Starkey; sister, Fanny Melchior; brothers, Dr. Maurice Starkey, Don M. Starkey and Jerry Starkey.

He is survived by:

Wife – Cornelia Starkey of Franklin

Daughter and Son-in-law – Lorri and Kenneth Sides of Snoqualmie, WA

Son and Daughter-in-law – Don and Abby Starkey of Franklin

9 Grandchildren – Michael Starkey, Ridge Starkey, Hayes Starkey, Heather Coomer, Kimberly Coomer, Amie Reynolds, Kevin Coomer, John Merryman and Kelsea Merryman

Numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, brother and sister-in-laws

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church in Franklin, Texas. Toby Foreman will offciate.
