Obituary

John Stacy Reeves, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at his home in Franklin, Texas at the age of 73. He was born on January 31, 1953, in Hearne, Texas to his parents, Bob Reeves, Jr. and Carolyn Sands Reeves.

Stacy was a graduate of Franklin High School and graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Science degree.  He married his wife of 50 years, Sharon Smith on August 21, 1976, in Franklin, Texas. Together they had two children, John Reeves and William Reeves.  Stacy was employed with the United States Department of Agriculture for 40 years before his retirement.  After retiring, he moved back home to Franklin where he had lived for the past 10 years.  Stacy was of the Methodist faith and was baptized in the Franklin Methodist Church as a young boy.

Stacy was loved by all that knew him.  He was also known as "Big Daddy" to his grandchildren and "Big John" by his co-workers.  He never met a stranger, and having a love for conversation made that exceptionally easy.  He also was a very active member of his community in Rockwall before his retirement, engaging in many youth judging activities through the years. Family was of the upmost importance to Stacy, and he adored his family and enjoyed every moment spent with them.  His warm gentle smile, southern drawl, and love for conversation will be missed but his memory will remain in the hearts of all the many lives he touched while here on earth and will never be forgotten.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Carolyn Reeves, Brother, Richard "Kippy" Reeves and daughter-in-law, Tiffany Reeves,

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, loving wife, Sharon Reeves of Franklin, sons, John Reeves and William Reeves both of Franklin; sister, Kimberli Pitcock of Grapeland; brother, David Reeves of Conroe, and his precious grandchildren, Aja Reeves, Wyatt Reeves and Wynter Reeves and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
