Joe Allen Templeton was born on November 15, 1955 in Abilene, Texas to parents, Billy Joe Templeton and Joyce Lewis Templeton. He entered eternal life with his family by his side on Monday, April 18, 2022 at the age of 66 years.
Joe was a 1974 graduate of Cooper High School. He was an electrician by trade and enjoyed the work he did. Joe owned and operated Templeton Electric since 1989. Templeton Electric was his pride and joy and loved knowing that he was passing it on to his son, Preston. Joe married his loving wife, Laura Whiteley on October 15, 1998 in Hearne, Texas. Joe had three daughters: Toni, Teja and Teri. Laura had a daughter, Lauren and they had a son together, Preston. Joe was a resident of Robertson County for the past 34 years previously living in Abilene/Eula. He was of the Christian faith and a member of the Robertson County Cowboy Church in Franklin.
Joe was a loving husband, amazing father and the greatest Pop. Joe was very proud of all his children and who they have become along with all they have accomplished. Joe was a pillar in the Robertson County community by serving as a Hearne Volunteer Fireman for over 20 years, sponsoring boys' and girls' baseball teams and many friends and family can testify to Joe always wanting to lend a helping hand to ones in need. Service unto others is both a calling and a privilege, and Joe never took for granted his opportunity to make an impact. He will forever remain in the hearts of the many lives he touched.
He was preceded in death by father, Billy Joe Templeton; grandparents, Walter and Hilda Lewis and William and Noni "Dude" Templeton; family friend, Fred Killough.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Laura Templeton of Hearne; Daughters and Sons-in-law, Toni Templeton and husband Daniel Hinojosa of Austin, Teja Templeton Ruiz and husband Adam of College Station, Teri Barham and husband Dustin of Hearne and Lauren Calhoun and husband Matthew of Cedar Park; Son and daughter-in-law, Preston Templeton and Jaid Bonner of Hearne; mother, Joyce Templeton of Hearne; sister, Lisa Johnson and husband James of Franklin; grandchildren: Zach Ruiz, Kait Ruiz, Trace Ortega, Kyle Ruiz, Tyli Ortega, Olivia Ruiz and Trigg Barham; nieces and nephew: Jessica Pruitt and husband Eric and children, Wade, Mack and Sally Pruitt all of Bremond, Erica Wilson and husband Chris and children, Ayden Martin and Blake all of Alaska and Wes Johnson of Franklin.
Service will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022 at 11:30 A.M. at the Robertson County Cowboy Church in Franklin, Texas. A visitation will be held of Friday from 10:30 A.M. until service time at the church. Burial will follow in Norwood Cemetery in Hearne, Texas
Memorial donations may be made to Robertson County Cowboy Church P.O. Box 687 Franklin, Texas 77856 in honor of Joe Templeton.
