JoAnn Hedrick Eck, our Sunny Valentine and precious sweetheart, passed from this life at 3am, Sunday January 24th, 2021, after a long illness.

She was a graduate of the University of Texas with a degree in Elementary Education. Also an avid artist, antique and collectible dealer and traveler.

She poured all her love into her family, and loved traveling to see them and love on her grandchildren. Her family was her life. She was a beacon of light that illuminated everyone she met. She lived and loved with her entire heart and spirit.

She is survived by her husband, Julius P. Eck of Shreveport, her son Jason A. Brooks of Kenmore, WA, his wife Brooke and their two sons Pierson and Copeland, her son Miles McGriff of Austin TX, his wife Christy and their two children Maverick and Ruby.

She will be interred at her family's gravesite in Wheelock, TX. Her remains were transported to McCauley Funeral Home, Franklin, TX, There will be a brief prayer service for her at the Wheelock Cemetery Chapel at 1:30pm, January 30th, 2021. Interment to follow.

Due to the situation with Covid, a memorial service will be held in Shreveport for dear friends in the near future.
