Joan Esther Boyd was born on April 1, 1935 in Tulita, Texas to Ollie T. and Mae Cleveland Loosier. She passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2016 in Bryan, Texas at the age of 81 years. She married Eli Boyd on September 15, 1957. Joan was a homemaker and lived of her life in Robertson and Leon Counties. She was a member of the Easterly Fellowship Church. She spent many years involved doing God's work and spreading his love. Her faith in God gave her a peaceful exit out of this world into her new home.
"I made it home. I just wanted to let you know I made it home. The journey wasn't an easy one, but it didn't take too long. Everything is pretty here, so white, fresh and new. I wish you all could close your eyes and see it too. Please try not to be sad for me. Try to understand God is taking care of me. I'm in the shelter of his hands. Here there is no sadness, no sorrow and no pain. Here there is no dying and I'll never hurt again. Here it is peaceful when all the angels sing. I really have to go now, I've got to try my wings.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 daughters, 1 sister and 1 brother.

She is survived by:

Son – Eli Boyd, Jr.

Daughter and Son-in-law – Ruby Boyd-Angton and John

Sister – Faye Poldrack

Granddaughters – Mechelle, Lashanda and Lamesha and their spouses

Grandsons – Trey, Nathan and JJ and their spouses

Multiple Great Grandchildren with her holding on for the birth of the last one.

Services will be held on Monday, August 22, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at the McCauley Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin. Burial will follow in the Marquez Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 21, 2016 from 6-8 P.M. at McCauley Funeral Home.
