Jimmie Kay was born on November 8, 1928, in Franklin, Texas to parents, Austin Henry Cooper and Ella Faye Johnson Cooper.  She entered eternal life on Wednesday, June 18, 2024, at the age of 95 years.

Jimmie married her love, John Lewis Kay, Jr. on November 6, 1947.  She was employed as a beautician and worked at Norris School of Cosmetology in Houston. In 1988, she and her husband, John returned to Franklin to spend their retirement years. Jimmie was long time member of the Franklin Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Ella Cooper, her husband, John Lewis Key, Jr. her son-in-law, Dean Benfield and her siblings.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter, Sandra E. Kay Benfield and her niece, Margie Fulks.

Services will be held on Monday, June 24, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at the McCauley Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin.   Their will be no committal graveside services. A visitation will be held on Monday from 12:00 until service time at the funeral home.
