James Keith Petteway, 55 of Franklin passed away January 7, 2017 as a result of lifelong health complications. He is now with his Lord. He was born to Joel Petteway and Mary Galloway Petteway in Marlin on July 6, 1961. Keith graduated from Franklin High School in 1980 and Chriswell College in Dallas. He was pastor of the Shiloh Baptist Church for over 22 years. He spent his entire life studying the bible and sharing the word of God with his church, community, family and friends.
Keith was preceded in death by his father and his maternal grandparents James "Jim" and Katherine Thompson Galloway and Aunt Katherine Ann Galloway Drehr. He is survived by his mother and a brother, Joel Lynn Petteway of Franklin, cousins Darla Liesman (Butch) of Irving, David Drehr (Sammie) of Inez, Donna Cox (Michael) of Cuero, Bill J Drehr (Jackie) of Cuero, a loving extended family and many brothers and sisters in Christ.
Visitation with family and friends will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, January 12 at the Shiloh Baptist Church with services to follow at 11:00 AM officiated by Pastor Nathan Giesenschlag, Ron Deeter and Monte Michaels. Burial will be at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday at the Franklin Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Mike Newman, B.J. Drehr, David Drehr, Bradley Drehr, Charles Schultz, Marty Akins, and Phil Hurley. Honorary pallbearers Joel Petteway, Ray Akins, Paul Schultz, Jr. and the congregation of the Shiloh Baptist Church.
