James Allen Hanna entered eternal life on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at the age of 78 years. He was born on May 13, 1945 in Buffalo, Texas to his parents, A.J. Hanna and Annie Brunette Hanna.
James attended school in Franklin and was a 1964 graduate of Franklin High School. He married his sweetheart, Martha Currie on June 11, 1965 in Easterly, Texas. He entered the United States Army in October of 1966 and served his country during the Vietnam War. After serving his country, he began his career with G.A.T.X. in Hearne employed as a tank car repairman and retired in 2000 after 33 years of employment. James was a life-long resident of Easterly and was of the Baptist faith.
James had a clever and bright personality that lightened up everybody around him. His hard working ethic was important and a priority to him. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved his family and he especially loved spending time with his great grandbabies, doing things that would bring a smile to their face. James had a love for hunting and fishing as well and enjoyed it in his spare time. He will be sorely missed by his family but the memories that were made will remain in their hearts forever.
James was preceded in death by his parents, A.J. and Annie Hanna; sisters, Shirley Wilkinson, Susan Lucas and Ola Mae Carruthers; his brothers, Gary Hanna and Robert Hanna.
James leaves behind to cherish his memory, wife of 58 years, Martha Hanna of Easterly; daughters and son-in-law, Laura Hanna of Franklin and Audrea and Randall Osteen of Huffman; son, Christopher Hanna of Franklin; brothers, Walter Hanna of Sharpsburg, Georgia and Kenneth Hanna of Quinlan. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Jordan Rowan and wife Paige, Amber Rowan and Tristan Thibodeaux; Bonus Grandchildren: Ashley Jones, Caroline Osteen, Brittney Brown and Jace Osteen; great grandchildren: Cole Robert Rowan, Ashton Grey Rowan and Elijah James Rowan and host of niece, nephews and other relatives.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at the Holly Cemetery in Ridge, Texas.
