James (Jimmy) Edward Deal (06.15.41–11.18.25)

Born to James Henry and Roxalee (Simmons) Deal in Navasota, Texas. The self-described man among men and God among women, Jimmy spent his formative years in Mumford working on a cotton farm.  He met the love of his life, Betty (Dolly) Moss of Wheelock at the movie theater in Hearne.  They were married on October 28, 1961.

As a youth, Jimmy mastered many skills (welding, machining, design, etc.…), skills which served him well during his career as a draftsman (specifically a piper) designing oil processing facilities. He successfully made the transition from pencil and paper to CAD drafting, becoming one of the best in his field.  His love for designing things did not stop with drawing skids and house plans, he created, among other things, many tools for building better barbed wire fences and at the time of his death was working on a plan to turn an old truck into dump buggy for hauling dirt.  There was nothing he could not fix or build.

Preceded in death by his parents and wife Betty (Dolly) Lenora Moss Deal.

Jimmy is survived by his son and daughter in law, Jerry and JoAnn Deal; daughter and son in law, Marci and James Coe; grandchildren Courtney Deal and husband Elliott Keeter, William Deal, Sarah Moreland and husband Jay and Dahlen Coe and wife Bridget and a great granddaughter Lenora Moreland.
