Obituary

Jackie Faye Garrett went to her Heavenly home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, January 2, 2026, at the age of 79 years.  She was born on November 25, 1946, in Houston, Texas, to parents, William Wood and Georgia Faye Staples Colvin.

Jackie received her education at Dulles High School in Houston.  She married her loving husband, Clifford Austin Garrett, Jr. on May 15, 1969. Jackie was employed as an administrative assistant before her retirement and was a resident of Franklin for the past 25 years, previously living in Hempstead.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church, New Baden, Texas.

Jackie was a loving Wife, Mother, and Nana. She laid down her life for her family and loved everyone who crossed her path. A true inspiration, Jackie loved the Lord dearly and made that love known through the way she lived. Jackie loved her husband, Cliff, with all of her heart. After 21 years separated by his passing, they are finally reunited, in each other's arms once more.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Georgia Colvin; husband, Clifford Austin Garrett, Jr. and 4 brothers, William Colvin, Jr., Robert Colvin, David Colvin, Glenn Colvin.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughters and sons-in-law, Suzie and Joe Ellison of Franklin, and Faye and Craig Miller of College Station; Son, Cliff "Trey" Garrett, III; Sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and John Thielen of DeKalb and brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Marie Colvin of Conroe.  She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren: Craig (Felicia) Ellison, Chris (Deanna) Ellison, Cameron (Sonni)Ellison, Austin (Samantha) Miller, Garrett Miller, Jaclyn (Matt) Trimble, Tyler (Celestial) Garrett and Tara Garrett and 19 Great Grandchildren. Numerous Nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Service will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church, New Baden, Texas.  Freddy Burden will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. A visitation with family will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the First Baptist Church, New Baden, Texas, 3226 New Baden Mt. Pleasant Rd. Franklin, TX 77856
