Jack was born in Lyons, Texas to Bertha and Benjamin Winslow on July 4, 1922. Jack grew up in Robertson and Brazos Counties and cotton farmed with his parents. He served his country in the Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1945. He has always been proud that he served his country and has had a great love for the U.S.A. and continued to be very patriotic. Jack was recently recognized at a Veteran's Day Ceremony by Congressman Bill Flores.

He married Eleanor Ruth Murray on September 7, 1946 and shared 65 years of marriage. They had two children, Jack E. Winslow, Jr. and Linda R. Winslow Kunz. Jack worked within the auto industry leading him and Ruth to starting Jack Winslow Body Shop in 1958 in College Station, Tx. It was relocated to its current location in 1972. The shop has developed into a well-known and respected business within the community.
Jack and Ruth attended Rock Prairie Baptist church, Wellborn Baptist church and most recently Bethany Baptist church. He was a deacon at Rock Prairie and Wellborn Baptist and very active within his church community and his faith.

The entire family enjoyed being together on family land in Robertson County. The time was spent with cattle, camping, hunting, fishing, riding four wheelers, and just being together. Later in his retirement, he and Ruth built a home and moved to their land in Robertson County and enjoyed the country life. His three grandchildren and four great grandchildren lovingly called him Paw Paw.

He has lived the last two years at the Isles of Watercrest and has lovingly been named Papa Jack or Papa Bear by all of his caregivers. His primary caregiver, Karen Orban was by his side daily and had become one of the family. The family would like to thank Karen and all of the staff at Watercrest that took such good care of him.
