Henry D. "Mike" Towns, 65, of Franklin, Texas passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at his residence. He was born on August 24, 1947 in Franklin, Texas to James Oscar Towns and Pinkie Weaver Towns. He attended school in Calvert and married Shaaron Morgan on February 8, 1974. Mike served in the 25th infantry of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was retired from New Core Steel. He was a life resident of Franklin and of the Baptist faith. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Jackie Crabb and Katherine Sims, brother; David Towns and his father-in-law, Herchel Morgan.

Sister-in-law – Patsy Minzenmayer and husband Fred of Franklin
Brother-in-law – Melvin Sims of Toole
He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, golfing buddies and his Cat, Prescey
Services are scheduled for Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Franklin Church of Christ. Rev. Lee Caldwell and Minister Blan Chrane will officiate. Burial will follow in the West Boone Cemetery in Robertson County. Donations may be made to the Oak Grove Country Club, Disabled American Veterans or to the Franklin Volunteer Fire Department.
