Harold Wayne Hyde was born on September 20, 1936 in Plainview, Texas to his parents, William Clovis Hyde and Ora Musgrave Hyde.  He entered eternal life on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at the age of 84 years.

Harold was a graduate of Plainview High School and Texas Tech University.  He was employed with the USDA Soil and Water Conservation Service for 35 years before his retirement.  Harold married Jody "Jo" Applewhite in 1958.  He was a resident of Franklin for the past 28 years and was a member of the Franklin Church of Christ.  Harold was also an active member of the Franklin Lions Club.

Some of Harold's favorite hobbies included photography and traveling. Harold was also known as "the ticket seller".  During football season, you could find him out and about in the town selling tickets for Lions Club Events.  He always had a friendly smile on his face.  One of Harold's fondest past times was meeting the local men at the doughnut shop for a good cup of coffee, great conversation fellowship and occasionally enjoying a doughnut.  Harold was Christian and his faith in the Lord was strong and unwavering.  He will be missed so many lives that he touched.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, William Clovis and Ora Hyde and his daughter, Cynthia Valentine.

He is survived by his longtime wife, Jody Hyde of Franklin; Son, Tedford Hyde of Lubbock; Sister, Laura Fancher of Arlington; Brother, Dale Hyde of Austin; grandchildren, Lyle Valentine and Elizabeth Hyde.  He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
