Evelyn Marie Wood passed away into eternal life on Friday, August 30, 2019 in Houston, Texas at the age of 66 years.  She was born on July 25, 1952  in North Carolina, she was the daughter of Curtis Driggers and Thelma Vinson Driggers.

Marie was retired as a caretaker.  She was an amazing mother and grandmother.  She will be remembered best by the love she had for her family.  She loved to cook and clean.  Marie was one of those special people that never met a stranger. She will be sorely missed by all that had a privilege of knowing her.

Marie lived in Franklin for 30 years before moving to College Station a short time ago.  She was of the Methodist faith.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Wood; son, Ashley Wood and her parents.

She is survived by:

Sons – Joey Hester and wife Stacy of Cleveland and Timothy Wood and wife Brandi of College Station

Brother – Curtis Driggers of North Carolina

12 Grandchildren:  Madison Wood, David Wood, Tory Acker, Alex Wood, Brooklynn Wood, Devon Wood, Ethan Wood, Dylan Hester, Naomi Hester, Logan Hester, Trisha Hester, Cole Hester and Kaeson Wood

9 Great Grandchildren:  Timothy Browning, Harlee Acker, Merci Acker, Connor Wood, Collin Wood, Catherine Wood, Cerenity Wood and Kolton Wright

Services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Thursday, September 5, 2019 at McCauley Funeral Home Chapel.  A visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home.  Burial will be held at 4:30 P.M. Thursday at the Fincastle Cemetery in Larue, Texas.
