Essie Ida Padgett was born on March 25, 1928 in Marquez, Texas to Fred Copeland and Ida Mae Noey Copeland.  She passed away Saturday, October 13, 2018 in Franklin, Texas at the age of 90 years.

Essie was admitted into the Baptist faith by baptism in Marquez, Texas and married James Roland Padgett on April 25, 1945. She was a homemaker.  She was a life resident of Marquez.

She was preceded in death by her parents,Fred and Ida Mae Copeland; husband, James Roland Padgett; daughter, Sheila Montez Padgett and son, James Fredrick Padgett; brothers, Fred Copeland, Eugene Copeland, Milton Copeland, Shelton Copeland and Willie Copeland; sisters, Irene Hall, Ofiline Tyler and Imogene Bishop; great granddaughter, Stephanie Brooke Bates

Services will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at the McCauley Funeral Chapel in Franklin.  Burial will follow in the Winn Cemetery.  A visitation will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at McCauley Funeral Home in Franklin.
