Ernest Carrol Buchanan was born on May 22, 1934 in New Baden, Texas to his parents, Ernest C. and Ruth Starkey Buchanan.  He entered eternal life on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at his home at the age of 86 years.

Ernest was a 1951 graduate of Franklin High School.  He married the love of his life, Juanita Darlene Tarver on August 22, 1953 in New Baden, Texas.  Before his retirement, Ernest was employed as a tool grinder.   After his retirement, he and wife moved to Oakwood to be close to family and he spent his time growing beautiful roses in his garden. He was a member of the Oakwood Memorial Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Ruth Buchanan and his wife, Juanita Darlene Buchanan.

Ernest is survived by his children: Melanie Lewandowski and husband Frank of Magnolia, Kevin Buchanan and wife Monica of Houston and Mark Buchanan and wife Lynne of Friendswood; sister, Nelda Nedbalek of Oakwood; sister's-in-law and brother-in-law, Danny and Bettye Tarver and Karen Tarver Hamilton; Grandchildren: Chance Buchanan, Christopher Buchanan, Austin Buchanan, Meagan Buchanan, Brooke Buchanan, Reagan Buchanan, Laynee Buchanan, Heather Amaya, Addam Amaya and Shelby Lewandowski

Services will be held on Friday, October 30, 2020 at 11:00 AM at McCauley Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
